Are you like me - not all that sure of what to do this weekend now that there's no Lehigh football to watch? Fortunately, there's loads of college football game to watch - there are games on Friday and Saturday to enjoy to scout out Lehigh's upcoming opponents - and they don't even impinge on College Football Gameday at Happy Valley, either.

I know, I know, it's strange when there's no Lehigh football game result to pick apart.  That doesn't mean that the rest of college football stood still during the Mountain Hawks' bye week. Lehigh's bye week came during a time when Penn State football, already rabid at the best of times, was at peak foaming-at-the-mouth after Happy Valley hosted ESPN College Gameday on Saturday morning and Michigan on Saturday night. In case you've been living under a rock, Penn State RB Saquon Barkley has a local connection: he went to Whitehall at the same time a guy called QB Nick Shafnisky was under center.  Now, Barkley is the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman with the Nittany Lions after a 263 yard, 3 TD effort against the Wolverines as Penn State coasted to a 42-13 win. Completing the return to 1986, Notre Dame also went to 6-1 after their own resounding 49-13 win over USC Saturday night as well, surprising in the ease in the way RB Josh Adams carved through ...

If you're anything like me, you're probably wondering what to watch when there's no Lehigh football game to attend or view on a fall weekend. Fortunately, dear Reader, I'm available to help you answer that question. From the early morning College Gameday at Happy Valley to Colorado/Washington State "Pac 12 After Dark", there are a boatload of different opportunities to immerse yourself in the wild, wonderful world of college football. Every week on College Sports Journal, I compile a list of links of every live internet stream that the NFF College Football Broadcast schedule puts out .  But this week, you don't even need to go there, because everything you'll need, Patriot League, FCS, or FBS, I'll have right here.

Admit it. Even though you have that Halloween party to go to, even though you're preparing for the Frankenstorm, that appears more and more that it's going to pound our area starting Sunday night, even though you're planning on taking your kids to that Halloween party, parade, or trick-or-treating, something's missing. It's a fall Saturday without Lehigh football. But cheer up, Lehigh fans.  Even if you don't care to watch Penn State's inevitable loss to Ohio State this weekend, there's plenty of FCS football available on TV and the internet that has a lot more bearing on the Patriot League title race and the Mountain Hawks' standing in the playoff chase. You don't have to wait for Sunday night.

Crying because it's the bye week, and you can't get your Lehigh football fix?  Fret not.  There are a backlog of articles about Lehigh players that you can enjoy below the flip. If that weren't enough, there's even an article from the Brown & White telling the students to step away from the tailgates - if even for only an hour - and watch the damn game. The blurry athlete pictured at left was Liberty sophmore WR Chris Summers , and he did this quite a lot last night in leading Liberty to a 19-13 win over the Leopards. He made 14 grabs - more than a few like the leaping grab shown here - for 138 yards and 1 touchdown. (Boy, I wish I hadn't moved the camera.) Backup Liberty sophomore QB Mike Brown - playing for the injured senior QB Tommy Beecher , who was held out in a gametime decision - was an efficient 29-for-36 with 88 yards rushing, 256 yards passing and a touchdown pass and a TD run for good measure. Against what is historically considered the top defense of the Patriot League, the Brown/Simmons express racked up 361 yards of total offense. Right off the bat Lafayette seemed to be put on the back foot after Liberty unexpectedly lined up in the empty formation, with Brown hitting Summers for a 7 yard gain to set the tone early. Not surprisingly, this week there wasn't much to report on Lehigh football since it was the bye week. But aside from senior LB Tim Diamond 's appearance on Lehigh Sports Magazine on Monday (available to anyone who gets the Lehigh Broadcast package on Yahoo! Sports), there were two other reports from Lehigh Athletics' website this week. Bayani's one of the Big Boys Now Bayani benches more than 400 lbs., but he is not alone on the Mountain Hawks at that mark. Oh, yeah. I know all of you out there are worried you're going to be like this guy this weekend with no Lehigh football game to watch. Worse, you might get stuck doing chores around the house, or possibly getting conned into going to the movie theater to catch I Know Who Killed Me . Fear not, though: you've come to the right place. I've come up with five things to do on this Labor Day weekend instead of laboring about what you're going to do with this weekend without football. 5. It's the last free Saturday you're going to have until December 28th; may as well get some Brownie Points with your significant other and get that nagging project done or go do that thing that they want to do this weekend. (Believe me, you'll be thanking me when Thanksgiving weekend you're faced with convincing them to take an impromptu road trip to Furman, SC.) 4.
