Incoming Patriot League Players In High School All-Star Games

(Photo Credit: Diane Cebula/The Hampton Roads Daily Press) Tonight might be the official "kick-off" of Pennsylvania high school all-star games for 2010.  The 36th annual City All-Star Football Game , pitting the Public All-Stars against the Non-Public All Stars, is being played at the Linc this evening starting at 7:00PM. There aren't any members of Lehigh's incoming class playing in this particular all-star game, but incoming Colgate freshman WR Siddiq Cornish will be playing for the public all-stars. I thought it might be an interesting blog post to list all the members of Patriot League football classes of 2010 and what all-star games they are scheduled to play in. So here goes. (more)

Spring Season Wrapup: Bucknell

In Part One of my "Patriot League Spring Wrapup" series, I talked about the excitement building at Lehigh, Lafayette, Colgate and Holy Cross for the upcoming fall 2010 football season. That's not to downplay the interesting developments at the other fine Patriot League schools.  But the three schools I didn't mention last time deserve their own section because this offseason so far they've been doing a whole lot more than simply putting in the plays to help them win football games in 2010. At Georgetown, a gaping hole in their athletics department was finally filled - and with that, brings the hope that they will soon see vast improvement in a whole host of areas of the football program. At Fordham, the decision to allow football scholarships - and some important new infrastructure - makes them, as always, someone to watch very closely.
