For those who are interested - below the flip are my selection of picks tomorrow's Patriot League football games being played.
For my picks of the rest of the week, click here to visit the College Sporting News and read: "Armanti Envy", where I pick the Sports Network Top 25.
Last weekend, I went a very, very acceptable 5-1, only missing the Georgetown/Yale game that I had correct until the last ten seconds of the game. Picking Lehigh to rebound against Princeton, Penn to upend Lafayette, Bucknell to lose to Dartmouth, Fordham beating Columbia, and Harvard beating Holy Cross - it was a good week in Chuckland. That puts my record on the year at 11-7.
You already know my Lehigh/New Hampshire prediction: let's see the rest. (more)
Assumption (D-II) at Fordham. Think the Greyhounds are some sort of easy pushover for QB Blake Wayne and the Rams this week? Think again. Assumption College, which already spanked Wagner 24-9, definitely has the horses to run with Fordham and make this a game. I could easily see the hot-again, cold-again Rams lay an egg in this game, and I think that's what happens.
Assumption Makes An Ram Out of You And Me 38, Rammed In Rose Hill 29
Colgate at Syracuse (FBS). The Orange, granted, are a bad, bad FBS football team. But one of the few things they do well is stop the run. Even the HooDoo won't help QB Greg Sullivan and the Raiders get the win in this renewal of this big upstate New York rivalry.
Orange Crush 38, Red Raiders 6
Lafayette at Princeton. With LB Stephen Cody patrolling the sidelines for the Tigers, I'd say that this game for sure would be a slam-dunk for Princeton. But with Cody done for the year - and Lafayette QB Ryan O'Neil back, supposedly, from injury - this will be a much closer contest. I think the Leopards - playing with the tiniest bit more desperation than the Tigers - prevail. Just.
Ryan's Hope 19, "Tigers? Nope." 18
Holy Cross at Georgetown. No, really, who had this game circled on their calendar last year? The Hoyas, led by WR Keerome Lawrence, can really put pressure on the rest of the Patriot League with a win against Holy Cross at home, who have struggled mightily in two big losses to UMass and Harvard, respectively. Is the Crusader offense really only "two meaningless touchdowns in two games" good, or was it that they faced two FCS powerhouses the last two weeks? Either way, QB Ryan Taggart had better get things going this weekend against an energized Hoya team, or the Crusaders will be 1-3 and in a serious tailspin. And - I'm amazing I'm saying this - I don't think Holy Cross will have enough to right the ship in time.

Mountain Hawks are capable of making this game close enough to snatch a win with a break or two. UNH may also be in a somewhat desperate mode, which could result in mistakes. Go Lehigh!
