No, it's not time to analyze the huge game up in Hamilton against Colgate just yet (though it may be worthwhile to think of ways to stop this guy, senior LB Jared Nepa, from being a big factor in this week's game.) First, it's time to give out some game balls for last Sunday's win against Bucknell.
There are so many heroes on offense, it's impossible to give game balls to everybody. Some would be just way too easy, like to sophomore QB Sedale "No Nickname Yet" Threatt, or senior RB Eric "TNT" Rath. But I'm going to give them instead to the guys that may not be so obvious.
There's not that much on the stat sheet for offensive linemen to gloat over in most games. But in this game, there are many things to cheer. "0", as in sacks that Bucknell's vaunted "D" line got against us - in a base 4-4 no less. "510" as in total offensive yards. I could live without 3 offensive penalties, but I still think the "O" line deserves their first game balls of the year. The line is: sophomore T Jimmy Kehs, senior T Tom Toth, junior G Jim Petrucelli, junior G Adam Selmasska, and junior C John Reese.
With "TNT" Rath's 100-yard game, you may have missed senior FB Greg Fay's 2 TDs and 40 all-purpose yards. But he's getting another game ball this week for another great week of doing all the things needed to win games - blocking, rushing, catching the ball out of the backfield. He's a big, integral, often invisible part of the offense, and yesterday he got the job done. Congratulations Greg!
Finally, to the obvious guys: sophomore QB Sedale Threatt and senior RB Eric "TNT" Rath. 286 all-purpouse yards and 3 TDs is one heck of a debut. But the block he threw to spring senior WR Gerran "G" Walker, well, how can I not reward that with a game ball? As for "TNT", well, 100 yards rushing and 1 TD speaks for itself. Congratulations to all!
On defense, I'm going to give it to senior DE Owen Breineger, for his 6 tackles, his sack, and his fumble recovery. The defense may needs some improvement before the Colgate game, but it's not due to lack of effort on Owen's part. Congratulations to Owen!
One more. For special teams, sophomore DB Laquan Gasaway gets the nod for one special teams tackle and one key fumble recovery of a Dante Ross fumble to set up the TD which completely deflated Bucknell's hopes for an upset. Congratulations Laquan!
The digest will come tomorrow, but the links to all the press writeups are below. Before I go, though, I will throw out the fact that Lehigh has lost 3 of their last 4 games in Hamilton, so anyone who thinks this game will be a walkover obviously hasn't been paying attention. Tune in for more tomorrow!

I think fans should keep an eye on Julian Ahye, number 36. This guy is young and still makes some coverage mistakes, but he is becoming a big playmaker on defense. If he can gain some strenght and weight he could be awesome. He has outstanding leaping ability and a great nose for the ball.
