Not a complete effort, but still an impressive win. Borda went 15-for-30, but with 4 TD passes. In the 4th quarter, FS Karrie Ford recovered a fumble for a TD that put to rest any thought of the Hoyas coming back in the game.
Give G'Town some credit: they really got their offense moving against a tough Lehigh defense. It looked like Lehigh over-committed to the run, and gave QB Crawford the pass, and despite his struggles this year, he was able to take what out defense gave him and had a very good day throwing.
Lehigh's defense, however, did not cover well underneath once the gameplan was evident. The Hoyas continued to get yardage in 10, 12, 14 yard chunks.
Offensively, Lehigh really was able to move the ball very effectively. But it took a long time for the "O" to get in synch. There were dumb penalties from the "O" line, and a bunch of dropped balls. The "O" line did do a good job of keeping their ends out of Borda's face, though.
Some areas of special teams still need some work after this week. A kickoff returned for a TD, another missed FG, and those dreaded out-of-bounds kickoffs. Having said that, Gerran Walker's return for a TD was a nice dash.
I don't want to sound like the voice of doom. Lehigh did a lot of things right, especially in the 2nd half we shut down G'Town's offense effectively. Offensively, my criticisms are (admittedly) mostly nitpicky.
Basically, I feel Georgetown came into the game hunting for respect, and they got it. They probably feel like they have a good foundation for their remaining games, and they deserve credit for a decent gameplan.
Overall, I'm happy with an impressive win that will keep Lehigh's name in the Top 10, and sets up the Fordham game next week. With the Rams' loss against Bucknell 21-20, Fordham has officially been eliminated from title contention, but they would like nothing better than knocking off Lehigh.
In other Patriot news, Colgate held on to beat Lafayette 22-19. That puts Lehigh, currently, in sole possession of 1st place in the Patriot League!
Tomorrow: Game balls and press

I wish Lehigh played at Georgetown every year however. Fantastic weather every time we go. Cozy little stadium, beautiful campus, and great restaurants nearby.
