Yes, the PL would benefit by expanding, but these two schools do not fit the existing PL mold. Adding them changes the profile. I also believe that if the PL adds schollies, which it ostensibly would have to in order to attract even UNH an Maine, it will become a stronger conference and position itself to attract more suitable members over time, if not immediately. In general, your overall approach or perspective to expansion of the league is to expand ASAP, even if the candidates are not really great fits. Let's review: you STRONGLY advocated for Marist, which is clearly not in line with the PL. Now you're talking about UNH and Maine, two public institutions, and we know how the last public experiment (Towson) went. I implore you to reserve pushing expansion with what may be the most available candidate in favor of advocating for more suitable candidates, even if it takes longer. There isn't necessarily an immediate need to expand, even if it would be helpful.

LUHawkerLUHawkernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5769695.post-64860972654153151522010-07-10T10:04:12.017-04:002010-07-10T10:04:12.017-04:00Reminds one of Nero fiddling while Rome burned. Lo...Reminds one of Nero fiddling while Rome burned. Lost opportunity for the PL by not announcing a scholarship plan this past June. With likely move of Maine and UNH to NEC, the PL gets shunted further down the ladder relevancy in FCS football.ngineernoreply@blogger.com
